The presentation highlights how strongly artificial intelligence is currently in focus and how it is increasingly shaping maintenance activities. Predictive Maintenance (PdM) is mentioned particularly often, yet in the regulated GMP environment high expectations meet significant challenges. The presentation critically examines these expectations and questions common PdM approaches using concrete examples from the pharmaceutical sector. It also explains condition monitoring as an essential precursor to PdM and illustrates this with practical cases from various process plants at CSL Behring in Marburg. Finally, the presentation outlines areas within maintenance where AI can unlock even greater potential in the future.
