Pharmaceutical manufacturing processes involving solid dosage forms generate hazardous dusts that are often both explosive and toxic. As a result, dust collection systems must meet two critical requirements: explosion protection in accordance with ATEX regulations and effective containment to protect operators, especially when handling highly potent compounds up to OEB class 5. This presentation explains how these requirements can be successfully combined in practice.
