Bulk solids are ubiquitous in food production – from flour, sugar, and cocoa to milk powder and dietary supplements. Without them, many everyday products would be unthinkable. The food industry therefore plays a major role at POWTECH TECHNOPHARM: it is one of the trade fair's focus sectors and benefits from a wide range of new solutions for efficient, safe, and hygienic processes, which will be presented by exhibitors in 2025.

The innovations presented at the trade fair demonstrate how diverse the requirements in food production are. They range from energy-efficient grinding and reliable conveying to precise atomization, filtration, and cleaning. Whether it's optimizing individual process steps or increasing overall efficiency, the solutions cover a broad spectrum and set new standards in terms of hygiene and safety.

The jet mill enables dry grinding in the range from 100 nm to 100 µm and can be used in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in food production.

Fine grinding of sensitive food ingredients

A new jet mill from Nanofract (Hall 4, Booth 4-415) enables particularly gentle grinding of temperature-sensitive or hygroscopic powders. Individually adjustable process parameters allow even complex requirements for particle size distribution and product protection to be reliably implemented. The system is suitable for operators who depend on reproducible quality and high energy efficiency when processing high-quality ingredients.

Condition monitoring for filter systems in the conveyor process

The monitoring system from Piab Vacuum (Hall 4, Booth 4-214) detects early on when filters in the vacuum conveying system become dirty. The solution continuously measures the differential pressure, evaluates the data, and automatically issues a maintenance recommendation. This prevents unnecessary downtime and reduces maintenance costs, without the need for additional sensors or manual inspections.

Flexible powder transport with closed systems

A newly introduced modular conveyor system from Sacchi (Hall 4, Booth 4-305) simplifies hygienic product movement between processing steps. It is based on closed conveyor tracks that prevent dust emissions and minimize cross-contamination. The system is specially designed for frequent product changes, can be adapted to structural conditions, and is also suitable for integration into existing production lines.

Atomization technology without oil and with CIP function

Two components from AM Atomizers (Hall 4, Booth 4-319) improve spray drying in food production: An oil-free rotary atomizer prevents product contact with lubricants, while a special retractable nozzle can be cleaned automatically. Cleaning in Place (CIP) saves cleaning time, increases plant safety, and reduces the need for manual intervention—ideal for hygiene-critical processes.

Process engineering for filtration, washing, and drying

A new stirred pressure filter from Bachiller (Hall 4, Booth 4-406) combines several process steps in a closed unit. Solids are filtered, washed, and dried—without the need for product transfer. The compact design enables gentle processing under pressure or vacuum, is suitable for sensitive products, and helps to simplify the process. Discharge also takes place under closed conditions.

Hygiene filter with integrated CIP cleaning

The new filter system from Filtersupport (Hall 4, Booth 4-216) was developed specifically for the requirements of the food and pharmaceutical industries. It is fully CIP-compatible, meaning it can be cleaned without dismantling. This reduces downtime, increases operational reliability, and ensures consistently high product quality, even in applications with particularly high hygiene standards.

Conclusion: Impulses for more efficient and hygienic processes

Whether grinding, conveying, atomizing, or cleaning: POWTECH TECHNOPHARM 2025 provides practical answers to key challenges in food processing. A visit to the trade fair is worthwhile for all operators in the food industry who want to optimize processes and ensure high hygiene standards. Participants who want to find out about the innovations on display at an early stage and plan their visit to the trade fair will find all the information they need in the exhibitor and product database.
