When efficient containment is required, there is no way around isolators. The closed systems create a controlled, shielded space between the operating personnel and the product. Thanks to the separation by means of permanently integrated gloves, overpressure or underpressure-controlled air flow and integrated decontamination cycles, isolators enable maximum product and personal safety. Compared to cleanrooms, processes in isolators can be validated more efficiently, more reproducibly and with significantly less cleaning effort.

Safe containment for sensitive processes – what you can expect at POWTECH TECHNOPHARM
Whether filling highly potent active ingredients, cleaning small process components or safely handling hazardous substances – without containment systems , many pharmaceutical and chemical processes can no longer be safely controlled. Protecting people, products and the environment requires precise technology, validatable processes and maximum ergonomics. At POWTECH TECHNOPHARM, numerous exhibitors will demonstrate how versatile and intelligent today's containment systems can be – from isolators and safety closures to cleanroom extraction systems.

Modular isolators for aseptic processes
With ISOCELL, IWT Pharma (Hall 10.0, Stand 10-639) is presenting an advanced isolator solution that is specifically designed for automated aseptic fill & finish processes in biotech and ATMP (advance therapy medicinal products) production. Thanks to its modular layout, the system can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements, including the integration of robotics. Rapid decontamination through validated VHP cycles makes ISOCELL particularly efficient in highly regulated environments.
The ISOCARE isolator is also from IWT – compact, GMP-compliant and optimised for sterility testing and small batch processing. Process steps can be traced seamlessly thanks to SCADA-based control in accordance with CFR Part 11. The compact isolator can be integrated into existing cleanrooms.
Safety cabinets with maximum protection factor
When it comes to weighing highly hazardous substances, the ST1 safety weighing cabinet from a1-envirosciences (Hall 10.0, Stand 10-142) offers a high level of safety: with an OEL value of < 20 ng/m³, it exceeds the requirements for OEB 5 substances by far. HEPA H14 filters, optical and acoustic warning systems and a vibration-free working environment guarantee not only protection but also precision in the milligram range. Installation is flexible – as a tabletop unit or with an optional base.

Air-Jet (Hall 12.0, Stand 12-348) is showcasing two key components for closed containment processes: The Air-Jet containment system enables pressure vessels to be filled and emptied without product contact – with free product flow, without disruptive flaps or seal wear. This reliably prevents agglomerations or product bridges. An integrated sight glass allows visual process control – even during hydrogen reactions.
In addition, the Air-Jet safety quick-release fastener ensures safe and easy opening of pressure vessels. The robust construction made of stainless steel or enamelled steel protects operating personnel through controlled pressure relief and prevents the lid from closing accidentally. A process pressure-assisted seal increases service life and reduces maintenance.
Cleaning systems – GMP-compliant
Cleanliness for small parts and accessories
The 2Clean cleaning system from IWT Pharma (Hall 10.0, Stand 10-639) was developed for use in confined spaces and is ideal for cleanrooms with limited space. The plug-and-play solution impresses with validated cleaning cycles, simple operation and ergonomic access. This allows small parts and accessories to be cleaned efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
Müller AG Processing (Hall 12.0, Stand 12-211) goes one step further with its PDC pharmaceutical cleaning systems: the modular systems automatically clean a wide range of production goods – from tablet stamps and barrels to laboratory glassware. The systems combine CIP/WIP/SIP technology with state-of-the-art hygienic design, reduce ultra-pure water consumption and offer maximum adaptability while maintaining consistent process reliability. Pulsation rinsing or direct discharge allow different cleaning levels to be flexibly mapped.

Extraction technology – clean air for critical processes
The FUMEX PSS extraction arm (Hall 11.0, Stand 11-331) was developed specifically for clean rooms and hygiene-critical industries such as pharmaceuticals and food. TÜV-certified and ATEX-approved, the system meets high standards of safety and cleanliness. The completely sealed stainless steel construction is easy to clean, and the air flow remains undisturbed thanks to an external support arm system – a major advantage for dusty or gas-laden work areas. Food-safe materials and FDA compliance underline its suitability for sensitive applications.
Conclusion: The diversity of modern containment technologies shows that whether closed transfer processes, aseptic processing or safe cleaning are required, tailor-made solutions are available for every scenario. It is clear that the combination of safety, ergonomics, cleanability and automation is crucial for sustainable protection in the pharmaceutical and bulk goods processing industries. The systems presented make the implementation of regulatory requirements an integral part of efficient production processes.
